Privacy Policy
dvoe is an AI relationship-coaching app for couples. Your conversations are personal, so we keep what we collect to the minimum needed to run the service, and we give you a real off-switch. This policy explains what we collect, who helps us process it, and how you stay in control.
Who we are
The dvoe app and the website at dvoe.us are operated by the dvoe team ("dvoe", "we", "us"). For any privacy question or request, contact us at support@dvoe.us.
What we collect
- Account: a unique Apple identifier from Sign in with Apple, and the display name you choose. We do not receive your Apple password. If Apple gives us a relay email, we treat it as account-internal only.
- Your conversations: the messages you write to your coach, the coach's replies, and the personal insights generated from your sessions. In a couple, an insight is shared with your partner only when you explicitly choose to share it — and you can revoke it.
- Voice notes: if you send an audio message, the recording is transcribed to text. We keep the transcript as part of your conversation; we do not use your voice to build a voiceprint.
- Subscription status: whether you have an active subscription, and which plan, so we can unlock paid features. Payment card details are handled by Apple or our payment processor — we never see or store them.
- Device tokens: if you enable notifications, a push token so we can send them.
- Usage and diagnostics: basic, mostly aggregated analytics (which screens are used, feature events) and crash reports, to keep the app working and improve it.
What we do with it
- Provide the coaching experience — your private coach and, on the paid tier, your shared couple coach.
- Generate insights from your sessions and carry them between layers only with your consent.
- Operate subscriptions, send notifications you turned on, and provide support.
- Keep the service secure and diagnose problems.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your private conversations to train third-party advertising profiles.
Who processes data for us
We use a small set of trusted providers ("subprocessors") strictly to run the service. They process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, push notifications, and in-app payments.
- OpenAI — generates the coach's responses from your messages. Sent via API; per OpenAI's API terms this content is not used to train their models.
- Groq — transcribes your voice notes to text.
- RevenueCat — manages Apple in-app subscription state.
- Creem — Merchant of Record for purchases made on the web (handles billing, tax and refunds).
- Analytics and crash reporting — product analytics and crash diagnostics to keep the app stable.
- Hosting — our application server and database run on a dedicated, access-controlled server.
Where your data lives and how it's protected
- Your data is stored on our server in an encrypted database backup chain; session tokens are stored hashed, not in plain text.
- Traffic between the app and our server is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Backups are encrypted, and the key needed to read them is held off-server.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and conversation data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is scheduled for deletion and removed within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records (for example, a payment receipt) to meet legal or accounting obligations.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.
- Control sharing: nothing from your private layer reaches your partner unless you share it, and you can revoke a shared insight.
- Turn off notifications in the app or in iOS settings.
- Access, correct, or export your data — email support@dvoe.us. Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights; we honour them.
Children
dvoe is intended for adults in committed relationships and is not directed to children under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
